Looks like the next version of ECMAScript (a.k.a JavaScript) will come with native XML types. The syntax actually looks really, really neat. I’m sure this will be very popular with developers who find XSLT a bit complex.
MSDN recently held a pretty interesting chat on the future of C#. Nothing really new but some insights into the minds behind the arcitechture of C#.
Finally it seems like we might soon be able to include well-formed XHTML into our RSS, instead of the content:encoded hacks we has to do before. That’s progress.
The Batik team has release yet another beta release on the way to 1.5. Lots of new features this time. Next stop: final release. That will be exciting!
Tom McDonnell responsed to my question about a XHTML/CSS version of the MSDN design suggestions. Still has a few minor issues but certainly proves that it would be possible for Microsoft not to repeat the microsoft.com disaster.
Access, a Japanese mobile provider, is to add SVG and SMIL support to their mobile phones. Read more in their press release.
